Welcome to Legacy Handcraft. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and the purchase of our products. By accessing or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. About Us
Legacy Handcraft (“we,” “our,” “us”) specializes in handmade, solid wood furniture, including Murphy beds and shelving. Our website and services are intended for customers located in the United States.
2. Eligibility & Accounts
If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity under your account.
You must be at least 18 years old to place an order.
3. Products & Orders
Orders are confirmed once payment is received. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order if necessary (for example, due to pricing errors or unavailable materials).
Our products are handmade from natural materials. Variations in wood grain, color, knots, or finish are normal and not considered defects.
Product descriptions, images, and measurements are provided to help guide your selection, but small differences may occur.
4. Pricing & Payments
Full payment is due at checkout. We accept major credit cards and other payment methods listed on our website.
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.
Sales tax may apply depending on your shipping location.
5. Shipping & Delivery
Risk of loss passes to you once the product is marked as delivered to the shipping address you provided.
The lead times for items vary and are provided in the product listing, at checkout, or in your order confirmation.
Delivery dates are estimates and may be affected by factors outside of our control (such as shipping carrier delays).
6. Returns, Refunds & Cancellations
Custom and Made-to-Order items (including shelves and mantels) are not eligible for return or cancellation once production has begun.
Murphy Beds are not eligible for return under any circumstances.
In-stock items (excluding Murphy beds) may be returned within 30 days of purchase, provided they are unused and in original condition.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs on eligible returns.
If your item arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos and a description. We will repair, replace, or refund as appropriate.
7. Warranties & Disclaimers
Except as stated, our products and services are provided “as is” without additional warranties.
Murphy Bed Warranty
- We offer a Lifetime Residential Warranty on the pistons and piston mechanics. Should they ever fail, please contact immediately and we will ship replacements to you at no charge. This warranty does not cover misuse or any adjustments made to the pistons, piston mechanics or brackets after delivery.
LED Lighting Kits
- LED lighting kits have a 1-year limited warranty on parts. If your lights stop working within one year of the date of delivery, we are happy to ship you a replacement kit.
Home Furnishings Guarantee
- All other products are sold with our Home Furnishings Guarantee: Each piece will be as advertised at the time of delivery. All moving parts will work as expected and be without defect. All damages or defects must be reported within 5 business days of receipt.
- The grain, color, reclaimed wood markings, holes, cuts, etc. are not considered to be defects, as these things are to be expected in a genuine wood product.
- As our products are real, solid wood, we do not guarantee against developing issues caused by the environment to which the wood is exposed after it has been delivered. This includes, but is not limited to, cracks, splits and warping, as these are directly caused by the humidity level in the space, and are not considered to be defects in real wood.
- Our Home Furnishings Guarantee does not include damage or effects from the storage or transport of your items after delivery.
Freight Deliveries
Items damaged during shipping and refused or reported within these guidelines will be replaced at no charge. Please note that, while we expedite these replacement parts, there is an expected lead time of 4–6 weeks for Made to Order products.
All freight deliveries must be inspected before the delivery is received. If you see damage to the packaging or the item itself, please refuse delivery and contact us immediately.
Once a delivery is accepted, any hidden shipping damage must be reported within 5 business days of receipt.
If a delivery is accepted with obvious damage, any return or reshipping costs will be the responsibility of the buyer.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on our website — including images, designs, text, logos, and trademarks — is the property of Legacy Handcraft and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without our prior written consent.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Legacy Handcraft shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to property damage, personal injury, or loss of use, arising out of or in connection with your use of our products or website. In no event shall our total liability for any claim exceed the amount you paid for the product at issue.
Safe Use & Installation Disclaimer
By purchasing and using our products, you acknowledge and accept responsibility for safe installation and use.
Our products are designed for residential use and must be assembled, installed, and used according to the provided instructions. Failure to follow installation guidelines, use appropriate tools and hardware, or ensure proper wall and floor conditions may result in product failure or injury.
For safety, certain products (including but not limited to Murphy beds and wall-mounted shelving) require secure anchoring into structural framing (such as wall studs) and may require professional installation. Legacy Handcraft is not responsible for damages or injuries caused by improper assembly, installation, modifications, misuse, or failure to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
Legacy Handcraft is not responsible for property damage or injuries caused by transport, installation or use of the bed or cabinets. Murphy Bed installation and use is perfectly safe when installed using the provided instructions and used for its intended common use.
10. Privacy Policy
Your use of our website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules.
Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes may be brought in the state or federal courts located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
12. SMS and Messaging
Legacy Companies, Inc, DBA Legacy Handcraft, will send SMS messages related to orders, customer support, delivery updates, promotions, and account notifications.
You can cancel the SMS service at any time by texting “STOP”. After you send the SMS message “STOP” to us, we will send you an SMS message to confirm that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. If you want to join again, just sign up as you did the first time and we will start sending SMS messages to you again.

- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages
- As always, message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency varies. If you have any questions about your text plan or data plan, it is best to contact your wireless provider.

13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with the “Last Updated” date revised. Continued use of our website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
